About TWB

Teleradiology Without Borders (TWB) was a Luxembourg-based nonprofit association (a.s.b.l.) active from 2007 to 2014.

Founded in 2007, TWB provided remote second-opinion radiology to support the interpretation of cases in resource-limited medical settings. The organization built a model of North–South radiological tele-cooperation resting on a professional infrastructure and an international network of volunteer radiologists.

From 2007, TWB operated a teleradiology infrastructure hosted in Paris and New York for the transmission, analysis and secure archiving of radiological cases. Documented projects notably involved Cameroon, Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Benin.

Until 2011, TWB helped make teleradiology tools freely available across several resource-limited settings. The radiologists taking part in remote readings were based notably in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Venezuela, Portugal and the United States.
